BOXING.

The Traoey-Pooley match for £200 purse to be decided in the Town Hall on Tuesday, 30th December, is creating a lot. of interest among local boxing fans.

The preliminary amateur bouts will bring out all the best of the local amateurs, in addition to a, match between the Christchurch lad Connor and the local champion Fletcher.

At the Taumarunui Carnival all the Auckland boys were successful.

The Venn-Olliver match provided a great contest, decided on points in Olliver's favour.

The pair have, been matched by the Northern Wairoa Association tx> meet on race night, January 17th.

The Hamilton Association is endeavouring to match Clabby and Tracey for a purse of £400 on the 7th February. There is every likelihood this match will eventuate, and will draw a bumper house.

TJren and Clabby have been matched to meet on January Ist at Hastings. It was thought this pair would meet again under the auspices of the Wellington Association. That will not eventuate, but there is every possibility of a return match in Auckland under the control of the Northern Boxing Association.

A dispute has recently arisen as to who is the light-weight champion of New Zealand.

The New Zealand Boxing Council has ruled that the honour belongs to Len Robinson, of. Gisborne.
