AUCKLAND CLUB.
During the winter months much work has been undertaken on the greens, and the improvements resulting should well compensate for the outlay, which has been considerable. * • * Although, like most others, the Mother Club has unfortunately lost several old and much esteemed members during the past three or four years, many new players have been elected this season, so that the Club's membership is well maintained. * • « Much interest has already been evinced in the Club competitions, entries for which closed last week,
A large number of entries have been received for the various events and the selection, committee had . a busy time iii making the draw. / In the first match of. the Club Fours some very close and interesting finishes took place, and if this be any indication of the keenness of players, many good contests should be witnessed on the greens this season. » ■» » Last Saturday was devoted to play, when the club met representatives from Otahuhu, Papatoetoe, and Waitemata.
