We may remark in passing that, so far as the administration of the day is concerned in Samoa, nothing could be much worse under any system than the treatment, or want of treatment, of the recent influenza epidemic, which levied an appalling toll of mortality on the people, and seriously impaired their respect for the administration to which they have been handed over by the Peace Treaty.
