ASSOCIATION.
The second round of matches in the Falcon Cup competition were played' on Saturday in fine weather. Brotherhood won the toss against the Shore, who faced the sum. Play commenced fast and even, Knaggs going right through when Samson cleared. Shore sent the play into Brotherhood's end and' forced a cor-
ner, but A. Carson cleared. Jackson handled', and Shore received a free kick without result. Knaggs transferred and play continued very fast, when Jenkins put in a long shot, which Old-nail in. goal for Brotherhood attempted to punch out. The ball hit Gibbons and went back into the net, but goal was not allowed, Gibbons being offside. S'qon after Dacre put in a shot which beat Oldnall and opened Shore's score. Play continued to be vigorous, and a scramble took place outsidle Brotherhood's gol, the ball entering the net. The goal was allowed, making Shore two up. Previous to this D. McPhersom injured his ankle and retiired). Brotherhood rallied, and Knaggs securing went through and passed to H. Pearson, who scored. Brothlerthpod opened strongly im' the second half and forced three corners, which, however, didi not materialise. D. Mcpherson, however, secured and sent in a shot which beat the Shore goalie, and equalised 1 matters. Shore attacked strongly, Jenkins being prominent in the forward line. Shore were given a free kick, but Samson was unable to score. Mcpherson secured and went through and, sending in a cross shot, gove Britherhood the lead by 3 goals to 2.
The Eveiion-Huntily match took place at Pukekohe and resulted in a win for Everton by 5 to 1. Brewer scored thrice and Baker twice, while Poirteous was responsible for Huntly's only' goal!. Mr W. Guest refereed.
Tabernacfe A v. Tabernacle B each played one man short, and the game resulted in a victory for Tabernacle B by 6 igoails to 1. Dow scored twice, Girling 2 and Stewart and Walker 1 each.
Brotherhood B v. Tabernacle C resulted in a win for Brotherhood B by 1 goal to nil after a fast and eveni game.
The teams now left in the Cup competition are Everton, BrotherA andl B, and Tabernacle B. The semi-finals will be played! on Saturday next and the final Saturday week.
A farewell was tendered to Mr E. Peoling, of the North Shore Club, by his fellow players' on Saturday evening last. Mr Pealing has gone to Trentham with the eighth reinforcements, and caries with him the good wishes 1 of all soccer players.
