ST. PATRICK DAY SPORTS.

Quite the most interesting feature of the St. Patrick Day Sports, which take place in the Domain Cricket Ground on Saturday, March 16th, will be the appearance of those world-famed runners, Jack Donaldson and Arthur Postle. These runners- will compete over three distances —75 yards, 150 yards and 200

yards—and some close contests may be anticipated. Besides,. there. are a number of cycling and running events, amateurs and professionals being catered for. A tug-of-war is also on the programme, and it should be noted that entries for all events close on Saturday next, March 2nd.

Auckland .sent only two reps.— Hill and Dormer—to the N.Z. Amateur Athletic Championship Meeting at Invercargill, but still they bagged four firsts. Hill won the Mile and Three Miles, and Dormer the Half and Quarter. The times were good considering the going. Dormer has come on wonderfully, and Hill may have to look to his laurels over a Mile.

What a splendid record Champion has put up in the swimming world. He has now won no less than 22 championships, and at Christchurch last week, won all the' top-notch events bar the breast stroke; Not only that, but in most of the events he made better times, and he is evidently at the top of his form just now.
