QITY OF AUCKLAND. SPECIAL ORDER MAKING BY-LAWS No. 13. Public Notice is hereby given that at the Ordinary Meeting of the Auckland City Council, to be held in the Council Chamber, Queen-street, Auckland, on THURSDAY, the 22nd day of February, 1912, a Resolution will be submitted for the confirmation of the following Special Order made at a Special Meeting of the said Council on the 25th day of January. 1912, viz.:— That the Auckland City Council doth hereby by Special Resolution intended to operate as a Special Order make the following Bylaws to be known hereafter as By-laws No. 13, viz.:— AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL. BY-LAWS NO. 13. BY-LAWS OF THE AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL MADE IN PURSUANCE OF THE POWERS AND PROVISIONS CONTAINED IN "THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS ACT, 1908," "THE AUCKLAND DOMAIN VESTING ACT, 1893," AND IN PURSUANCE OF ALL AND EVERY THE OTHER POWERS IN THAT BEHALF CONTAINED IN ANY OTHER ACT ENABLING THE SAID COUNCIL IN THAT BEHALF— 1. Whereas the Auckland City Council has laid out lawns in a part of the Auckland Domain for the playing of the game of Lawn Tennis thereon, and it-is desirable to make By-laws for the management, preservation, and disposition thereof, the government and control of all persons using or frequenting the same, and generally regulating the use of that portion of the Domain occupied by such lawns* the Auckland City Council hereby by Special Order makes and ordains these By-laws. 2. These By-laws shall be read with and as extending and amending By-laws No. 2 of the City of Auckland, and words herein used shall have the same meaning and be interpreted in the same way as the same words when used in the said By-laws. 3. No person shall— (a) Play or attempt to play any game of lawn tennis on any one of the said lawns unless he shall have first paid to the Caretaker of the said lawns the fee or charge of threepence per short set not exceeding half-an-hour's duration. (b) Play any game of lawn tennis or walk upon or over any portion of the lawns unless he shall at the time be wearing boots or shoes with rubber soles and without heels. (o) Play or attempt to play any other game than lawn tennis on any of the said lawns or on any portion thereof. (d) Play or attempt to play any such game thereon when such lawn or the part thereof upon which such game is played or attempted to be played is unfit to be played upon or would be damaged thereby. 4. No person shall in any part of the Domain—• (a) Ride or drive any animal at a greater speed than eight miles per hour. (b) Ride or drive any 'bicycle, motor cycle, motor car, or other similar carriage at a greater speed than 12 miles per' hour. (c) Ride or drive round any bend or corner or across the intersection of any drive or path at a greater speed than four miles per hour. (d) Fail to sound the bell, gong, or horn of any bicycle, motor cycle, or motor car of which he may be the rider or' driver when approaching any bend, corner, or .intersection of any drive or path, so as to give audible warning of such approach. A copy of the proposed By-laws is deposited at the Office of the Council in the Town Hall, Queen-street, and is open to the inspection of the public during Office hours until the said 22nd day of February.
