TaNiwha.— An exp'oded notion. Verax.— Certainly, send it along. P. B. — What are you giving us ? The malice is too palpable, not to say contemptible. A. H. — Haven't the least idea who began it, and don't feel inclined to waste time in inquiring. Brutes. — Have inquired in the direction you indicate, and find that someone has been pulling your sleeve. Politicus (Waihi).— No, John Duthie is not in the present Parliament. He ran for Wellin ton North at the last election, but was defeated by Lawyer Izard. Hee-Haw (Cambridge). — You say there -is a joke in it? But to perpetrate a joke that requires a key to show the point is something like winking at a pretty girl half way through the Parnell tunnel— you know what you are about, but no one else does. Ex-pk.o —Two versions of the same screamer were played- in the colonies some twenty years ago -'one by the MacMahon and Leitcn Company, under the title of " The Librarian," and the other by Frank Thornton, called '• The Private Secretary." Both were adap ■ tations of a foreign farce, no the other fellow was as near right as you were.
