Is it necessary that the festivities in connection with a marriage should take place on the evening of the wedding day, when the principal parties, as often as not, are debarred from enjoying chem ? From this conventional plan a couple in the South have broken away. They were married a fortnight ago, and limited the celebration proceedings to an afternoon reception, reserving the rest till they should return. Now they are back from their honeymoon, and have invited their friends to gather round them at a house-warm-ing party. I coinmrnd the idea to some of my young friends on the verge of matrimony.
A good deal of local interest was occasioned last week by the marriage in St. Cuthbert's Church, Manaia, Taranaki, of the Rev. Carl Henry Sergei, of the .oraziliau Mission field, to Miss Hedy Stroin', of Auckland. The Rev. W. Klinjender officiated. The bride was attended by Miss Kathleen Alexander, of Auckland, ana Mr Henry Streirt was best man. The wedding breakfast was served at the residence of Mrs A. W. Rutherford, sister of the bride.
