pITY OF AUCKLAND; & PECIAL ORDER. PUBLIO NOTICE is hereby given that at the ordinary Meeting of the Auckland City Council, to be held in the Council Chamber, Coburg-street, Auckland, on THURSDAY, 29th August, 1907, at 6 30 o'clock p.m.. a Resolution will be submitted for the confirmation of the following Special Order, made at a Special Meeting of the said Council, on the lst day of August, 1907, viz :— That whereas in 1844 the General Government of New Zealand sold Lot 8, of Section 7. City of Auckland, that in 1861 the said Government straightened the original line of Waterloo Quadrant, leaving a small strip of land between the alignment of the street and the original boundary of Lots 4 to 9, and the then owners of Lot" 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9, obtained and hold Titles to the portion of such striD of land fronting their respective Lots, that the then owner of Lot 8, from some cause or another, not now ascertainable, did not obtain a Title, but entered into possession of the portion of such striD of land fronting his Lot, and such possession has been enjoyed ever since, that the General Government officials have in effect expressed tneir willingness to issue the 'i itle, but think at this date the matter sh.uld technically be dealt with by thd City Council, in terms of Sections 212 and 240 of '-The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900," be it therefore resolved by special resolution intended to operate as a Special order, that Waterloo Quadrant in fro t of the said Lot 8, of Section 7, City of Auckland, be diminished in width to the extent of the strip of land between the original frontage of thj said Lot 8, and the present alignment of the street, and that such strip of land be sold in terms of the said Act to the present owner of the said Lot 8 HENRY W.
