QITY OF AUCKLAND; RATES. Public Notice is hereby given that the Auckland City Council, in pursuance of its powers under " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900," " The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1885," " The Baling Act, 1894," and all other powers enabling it in thatr behalf, intends on THURSDAY, the 4th day of July, 1907, to make and levy for the year commenced on the first day of June, 1907, and ending on the 3lst day of May, 1908 :— 1. A General Rate of Elevenpence (lid) in the £. 2. A Hospital and Charitable Aid Rate of Threepence (3d) in the £. 3. A Library Rate of One halfpenny (id) in the £. 4. A Sanitation Rate of Twopence (2d) in the£ Upon the ratable value of all ratable property fas appearing in the Valuation 801 l for the time being in force in the City of Auckland, the said Kates to be payable in each case in one sum on the sth day of July, 1907, at the Municipal Offices, Coburgstreet, Auckland, to J. Sylvester Brigham, the Council's Collector, or to such other person as may be from tine to time appointed to collect the same. The estimates upon which the rates are being struck having been approved by the Council, are open for inspection in the Town Clerk's Office, Ooburg-st. The Rate Book is open for inspection in the City Treasury between the hours of nine o'clock a m. and five o'clock p.m. on all business days of the week, except Saturdays, when it shall be open for inspection between the hours of nine o'clock a.m. and 12 o'clock noon. WATER RATES. And notice is further given that the Auckland City 'Council, in pursuance of the powers under " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1930," "The Haung Act, 1891," and all other powers enabling it in that behalf, intends on THURSDAY, the 4th day of July, 1907, to make and levy for the year commencing on the first day of July, 1907, and ending on the thirtieth day of June,/ 1908, the following Water Rates, in respect of the ordinary supply : — Upon all lands and buildings to which water is supplied whose annual ratable value as appearing on the Valuation h oil does not exceed Twelve Pounds Ten Shillings, a rate of Ten Shillings (10/-); Exceeds Twelve Pounds Ten Shillings, but does not exceed One Hundred Pounds, a rate of two and one-half per centum (2} per cent.) on such value, provided that in no case shall the minimum amount of such rate be less than Ten Shillings (10/-) ; Exceeds One Hundred Pounds, a rate of two per centum (2 per cent.) on such value. Upon all lands and buildings to which water can be but is not supplied, situate within one hundred yards from any part of the water works a rate of one quarter per centum (J per cent ) on the annual ratable value. Upon all buildings used as stores or ware* houses, or for any purposes other than as dwelling houses, a rate of one per 'centum (l per cent.) upon the annual ratable value, provided that when the supply to such building is wholly paid for by meter, this rate shall not be levied thereupon. The said rate to be payable in each case in two equal half-yearly instalments, the first upon the fifth day of July. 1907, and the second upon the -first day of January, 1908, at the Municipal Offices, Coburg-street, Auckland, to J Sylvester Brigham, the Council's Collector, or to such other person as may be from time to time appointed to collect the same. The Water Bate Book is open for inspection in the city treasury between the boars of nine o'clock a.m. and five o'clock p.m. on all business days of the week except Saturday, when it shall be open for inspection between the hours of nine o'clock a m. and 12 o'clock noon.
