WHANGAREI HEADS.

Ihe return ball given by the young ladies of Whangarei Heads to the bachelors turned out a great success. All pronounced it to be the dance of the season. Great credit is due to the committee. Misses Siinart, Wright, Robinson, Fowler, McLeod, M Stuart, Urquhart, McGregor, Q Urquhart, and Mrs A McGregor (secretary). The hall was very tastefully decorated, the Coromandel kindly lending a number of flags for the occasion. The music also was very good. The supper was all tha* could be desired. All the ladies looked so charming that; the honour of belle was hard to decide. Among those present were:— Mrs Foote, who looket nice in black trimmed with pink Bilk ; Mrs Dan McKenzie, lavender blouse, black skirfc ; Mrs White, pink and white; Mrs A McGregor, yellow and white muslin trimmed with lace ; Mrs D Rowlands, pink blouse, dark skirt ; Mrs N McLeod, blue; Mra Fowler, black; Mrs D Urquharfc, black ; Miss K Reed, dress of black, tastefully trimmed with red ; Miss Skellern, all white; Miss Graig, creme, satin sleeves ; Miss McGregor ( Waipu), pretty blue trimmed with chiffon ; Miss Crisp, green and white ; Miss Campbell, dainty pink silk trimmed with true lovers' knots ; Miss LeClere, green and black ; Miss Foote looked dainty in green and white ; Miss Squires, blouse of red sacin, black skirt ; Miss Blagrove, blue blouse, dark skirt ; Miss Stuart, blue blouse trimmed with creme lace, creme skirt ; Miss M S ,uarfc looked very nice in blue and white muslin ; Miss Ruddell, blue blouse, dark skirt ; Miss Wright, white muslin; Miss F. Wright yellow skirt, very pretty yellow satin bodice trimmed with chiffon ; Miss Fowler, blue and creme ; Miss A Fowler, creme, pretty red sash ; Miss J Fowler, white, red sash ; Miss R Urquhart, green trimmed with white ; Miss J McGregor, white; Miss B McGregor, pink ; Miss Robinson, black, blue sleeves ; Miss J Robinson, black dress trimmed with white ; MUs Urquhart, green, trimmed with black lace; Miss J Urquhart, white and clue.
