OHINEMURI.
Palmer or Moss?
This is said to be the issue at Ohinemuri. Mr Moss having fuiled to get the Government Bupport, baa been taken up by tho Opposition, while Mr Palmer is the Government candidate. The others are cot in the running. • The fact that Mr GaJman has asked the miners to elect Mr Palmer as bis successor is in itself almost sufficient to determine the result of the contest. There are_many reasons why this cocstituency should listen to Mr Gadman and carry out his wishes, but, 'apart from these altogether, Mr Palmer would make a first class member- He has previously held a seat in the House, he has the science of politics at his finger ends, and he is a capital speaker. Moreover, he is one of the best authorities in this part of the colony on our mining laws, of which he has made a special study, and it will be in the minds of oar readers that he upset aeveral important mining decisions two or three years ago. On personal grounds, also, Mr Palmer possesses all the qualifications of a good member, and we hope to see him elected.
