HOHOURA.
The bachelors in Mr W Evans's employ gave a very enjoyable and successful ball on the 3rd instant. The hall was nicely filled, and was tastefully decorated with evergreens and flowers, which gave it quite a gay appearance ...The music was supplied by the Hohoura band, under the management of Mr S C Warren, who is to be comp.imented on its excellence. Mr QCo irtney performed the duties o£M C in a very creditable manner, Many pretty dresses were worn, and the honours of balle fell to Miss P Evans. During tne evening several songs were rendered by Miss Evans, Me3sra Evans, Callicut Badford, Oolegrove and Bobertson, which filled in the time very nicely. Dancing was kept up until daylight, when the young mashers began taking home their best girls. . The O M missed a good chance when he lost tae snap shot of the two in the corner near the fruit stall. ..F T was doing a little mash in the corner with the girl in blue. vVhat will L say when he hears of it ?
