PARNELL.
A Triangular Duel.
The candidates for this seat are Messrs W. P. Lawry, J. 0. Allen and Hugh Campbell. Mr Lawry is the Bitting- member Hehas been a very good member in bis time, but politically he has lived beyond his time, and now is existing on hia reputation. Mr Lawry is a slavish supporter of the Government. If this is what the electors want in their member, they will do well to re-elect him He is a self-confessed ' barracker ' for the liquor trade. Other members view the liquor trade as a questiou of politics— Mr Lawry almost as a matter of bread and bntter. So far as Auckland'a interests are concerned, Mr Lawry invariably votes on the right side— if the Government allows him — and that is all we can say. He lacks energy as well as many other of the qualifications of a good member. As against him, the electors have the choice of two very good men. Mr Allen is an excellent apeuker and would be an energetic and useful member. Bat he is not Bound on the Education question. He wants Bible-in-Scbools, and so surely as this is carried, so Barely will we have State-aided religious schools for certain denominations. Mr Hagh Campbell would make & first-class member. He is opposed to the Government, and independent so far as the Opposition party is concerned, and at the same time ib fully alive to the neglect that Auckland's interests have suffered. If the Farnell electors want a safe and moderate member, and one who will help Auckland's interests along in Parliament, they mußt elect Mr Camßbell.
