IRAGLAN.

The Te Akau ball was a great success, about eighty couple being present, notwithstanding that the day was very, wet and cold. The following are some of the most remarkable dresses : — Mrs C Matthew, white ; Miss Harper, white ; Miss Robertson, blacfc ; Mrs Roland,- black ; Mrs Clark, yellow ; Mra McLieth, very handsome shot green silk, plaid silk blouse; Miss Hallett, black; Mrs Langrige, brown ; Mrs Wallis, white ; Mrs Hickler, blue ; Miss Moon, brown. I cannot think of any more dresses, but all present seemed to enjoy themselves. Some of the visitors came from the Waikato, and deserve great credit for tackling such roads.
