MAUNGAKARAMEA
A very pretty and interesting wedding was celebrated at the residence of the bride's parents on Her Majesty's natal day, the contracting parties being Mr John I&nderson and Miss A Gunson. The bride looked charming in a dress of creme satin, with talle veil, and the customary wreath of orange blossoms. The bridesmaids were dressed in': white diaphanous gauze, creme Bashes, with, emerald shoulder knots. After the ceremony the wedding party adjourned to the future .-'residence of the happy couple, ■where a reception was held, about one hundred guests attending. Mr j D Lovett, who acted as best man, proposed the health of the bride in a neat and appropriate speech. The presents to the bride were, costly and chaste. The following were a few of the costumes worn: — Mrs F O'carroll, magenta Bilk and mauve trimmings ; Mrs John Miller, light grey silk ; Miss Codlin, lavendar silk ; Mrs T O'Carroll, hailshower mußlin ;• Mrs John liovett, black velvet blouee and buttercup yellow brocade; Mrs William Crawford, blacK silk, fichu of creme silk lace; Miss M Crawford, strawberry meryeilleuxsilk; Miss Annie Walker, oreme and vieuz rose costume ; Miss J Anderson, dainty gold coloured silk... Who was the young man who was tickling the school- teacher's neck with a feather— or was
it with his whisker3?— when the lights were lowered at the cinematograph show?.. The O M would like to know if M D thinks she is a woman now that she has her hair up... The ladies of Maungakaramea are now thoroughly up-to-date, and skirt dancing iB quite the correct thing in the land. .What made J M bolt when the man exhibited the Black Diamond ex press train at the cinematograph ?.. Another disturbance happened later on, when F O shouted ' Help ! he is drownded.'
