Girls' Sailor Costume. This practical costume is here pictured made of dark blue and white serge. It has a straight, full skirt which is deeply hemmed at the bottom and gathered at the top, where it is sewed to a Bleeveiess high-necked waist of lining. The waist is fitted by single bust darts, shoulder and under-arm seams and closed at the back ; it is faced in front with white serge and the neck is finished with a cording of the same. An emblem is embroidered on the upper part of the facing. The blouse haa a seamless front and back. The front is cut out to disclose the facing ou the under-waist, and the lower edge of the blouse is turned under for a hem in which a tape is inserted to draw the fulness well in in about the waist and permit the blouse to droop in the ÜBual style. The sailor collar falls deep at the back and its tapering ends are sewed to the neck edge of the front. The full sleeves are gathered at the top and bottom and arranged on coat- shaped linings that are faced to round cuff depth with tbe white serge. Patterns for the above may be obtained from Mr W. P. Ogilvie, Wellesley-street, Auckland.
