T) R O 8 P, E C- T TJ S • OF'THE TRILBY ;OOLDMINING COMPANY (No Liability). LEASE GRANTED. ' : WAIKOROMIKO. This Holding contains 34 acres, and is bounded by the Herald, Forest Queen, 'Waikoromiko, Moa, and Mounsey.- ■ It is proposed to form aKo Liability Company of 80 shares, 40 of which will be offered to the public at £20 each, 35 to be retained by the Promoters, and five reserved.for the Company. The proceeds of the 40 shares sold to the public (less expense of lease and brokerage) will be ap- • plied in working the ground, which is known to contain valuable reefs. The expenses of lease and brokerage not to exceed £100 (one hundred pounds). A digest from the reportof Mr P. Bedlington, Authorised Purveyor and.Mming Engineer, is appended:— Auckland, 13th June, 1896. THE TRILBY LICENSED HOLDING. The lease comprises an area of 33a 3r and 16p, asd consists of a Licensed Holding and a quartz claim in the Waikoromiko .District, on the eastern watershed of the Tokatea Range, m the Hauraki Peninsula, aud about 7 miles from Coromandel, with which it is connected by the main Waikoromiko Road, which goes right through the property. It adjoins the Herald (now Rialto >, Moa, Waikoromiko, Forest Qneeu and Mounsey, and in its immediate vicinity are the well-known East and West Tokatea, Tokatea consols, Eldorado, Four-in-Hand and Tandem. The Waikoromiko District, in which the claim is situate, has long been known to be highly auriferous, some specimens goiLc as much as 6oz and 7oz to the lb. One specimen, found near the month of the creek which traverses this claim, was sold for £60. Mr John Majn prospected this claim 22 years ago, and at the place marked Mayn's Keef on the plan, obtained I2ooz of gold from stone crushed at the Plutus battery. He had to abandon it, as it required more capital than he could command, intending, however, to have it taken- up at a future date. The ground was also worked by Messrs Hornibrook aud Stevens, who obtained 16oz of gold, and by Messrs Kelly and McAlpine, but the appliances at that time appear to have been too primitive to command success. The ground has never been worked.by a company, and the deepest adit is, comparatively speaking, only a few feet below the surface, though in all 200oz of gold have been won from the claim. The main Waikoromiko stream has been sluiced with payable results, and good dish prospects can now be obtained from the surface anywhere between road and main stream, thus showing some of the xeefs crossing the main spur must be shedding the gold.- There are over twelve reefs, which have been stripped at the outcrops, and can also be seen at the old adits. These have been proved in the past with old appliances to contain rich gold, and with the much improved plants and methods of to-day, are certain to prove highly valuable. The contour of the country is all that can be desired, the S.W. corner is 700 feet above the junction of stream, thus showing several hundred feet of backs are obtainable, and mining carried on inexpensively. There is also a plentiful supply of timber and sufficient water for all mining purposes. The country is easily worked sandstone or decomposed andesite. In conclusion, I may say that taking into consideration the known auriferous nature of the lodes traversing this claim, the many natural facilities which exist for working them, the high value of the gold, and the class of country carrying the lodes, 1 consider the property a most valuable prospective one, and should sufficient capital be obtained locally to open up the numerous reefs, I am certain the property will prove a most desirable one. I have etc., etc., (Signed) P. BEDLINGTON, Auth. Surveyor and Mining Engineer. J^^^M st wiU be °P ened a* 9 o'clock on MONDAY MORNING, the 15th inst.
