PALMERSTON NORTH,
The Bijou Quadrille Assembly held their plain and fancy dress ball last week. It proved a great success, about fifty couples present. The belle of the fancy dress was Miss Martin, who looked exceedingly nice as an Italian Princess, and the belle of the evening dress I should say was Miss S Day, who looked really charming in black lace skirt with low-necked black velvet bodice relieved with cardinal rose buds. Misses Wadsworih, Day, Cnrren, Lucas and others too numerous to mention appeared to great advantage.
