The ladies gave a leap-year ball in the Central School on the 22nd. The arrange ments were carried out well, and the ladies all looked nice, some very pretty costumes being worn...G I should think himself highly honoured at receiving the honour of beau... J G and H G looked well in the swallow-tailed coatß ; they seemed to take the fancy of M C and 1C..M6 looked well promenading the room with DP. Get your hair cut, D, and give your fellow tradesman a show. .J Me looKed very lonely. Wa9 it because J K wasn't there ? ...E C was piling on the jam with J Mc.B T is sweet on T W. .What was the matter with M C's feet?. .Miss R looked loving with E E... J S looked well in the comer, hidden by the flags. Look out, J, or you will soon be on the shelf.. D W seemed sweet on J A S. .P W looked lonely. Was it because Miss E wasn't there ?. .What price the dark musician, ladies 1
. . . What was D W carrying in the shawl ? The O M noticed it...What made H S iun from the door when the lady smiled at him ?...L W looked charming. What a pity Mr J wasn't therc.E Q took the O M's fancy while singing 'The Alabama Coon.'..L W looked motherly with the doll in her arms while singing ' Daddy won't buy me a Sweetheart.'
