A school-teacher's life is not a happy one, evidently, in some parts of Otago. The Inchholme School Committee, for instance, is -of opinion that the teacher ought to be bound by agreement to look thoroughly after the buildiDgs, keep the spouting clear of dirt, titivate, the grounds, grub gorse, trim hedges, attend to the cleaning of the school, and generally exercise a strict supervision over the property. All this is to be done presumably to fill in his spare time. And the committee wrote to the Board to enforce its views. It goes without saying that the competition for that school will not be particularly keen among the Otago teachers.
