BEFORE THE OI'BKATIOX. AFTER THE OPERATION. A REMARKABLE SURGICAL OPERATION BY DR WILKINS. We have mentioned from time to time in the Observer examples of clever surgical operations by Dr Wilkins— such, for instance, as the building of a new nose for a man ana the making of a new eye-lid for a little girl. Miss Maggie Power, daughter of Mr Daniel Power, of New Plymouth, is another patient who owes much to his skill. Originally, she suffered from hare-lip, and our first picture shows her as she was after an operation by another surgeon. The second picture shows her after Dr Wilkins had operated upon her. The girl is now of very pleasing appearance, and Mr Power has written a very grateful letter to Dr WilMns. These pictures are drawn from photographs taken by Mr Hanna, of Auckland, before and after the operation.
