Auckland City.

Therk has been some little change in popular sympathy since our last issue. Some of the candidates have lost ground and others have gained it. There will be no easy victory for either side. The greater forces will be wholly divided againet each other, and no one can say which of them wiil prevail. Those candidates who are running a 'lone hand' will be more or less strongly backed, and in one or two cases will poll well. This contest, however, really lies between six men. So far as the others are concerned, a miracle would be necessary to give them any show whatever of getting within cooey of the first three. It is not out of place to-day to give some review of the candidates and their prospects.
