CHARACTER HEADING FROM PHOTOGRAPHS.

{Bs Phiz.)

[.Subscribers desirous of having their characters read from photographs may forward cabinets or cartes-de-visite (the former preferred), for that purpose, addressed to ' Phiz/ Observer Office, Auckland. "Where the return of the photos is desired, postage stamps should accompany them. No charge will be made for character reading

E.M.B.— A very bad photo. You are yer v practical, hard-headed, a quick obser" ver, energetic, firm of purpose, a good manager. Temper good— as a rule. S.J. — The photo is not a good one for ' reading.' Too small, and it is rather faded. However, here goes : You are quiet, thoughtful, you keep your eyes open all the time. You are a little bit firm and precise. You are cautious.

Whiskebs.— You have a well-formed head. You are, like 'Dawson,' an observer, bat you have a much keener sense of humour than he haß. You are very fond of fan, and can be rather sarcastic if you like. You are energetic, determined (when you make up your mind) and you know how to keep your own counsel.

A.A. — You have a good forehead, showing tboughtfulness and some imagination. The will is fairly firm. The manner is gentle. The voice is ' sweet and low.' The imagination you possess makes you dreamy at times and given to ' castle building.' Is it not so ? You are quiet, very sensitive to praise or blame ; undemonstrative ; a great observer. P.R. and J.C.-'P.B.' is thoughtful. Trouble has sobered a naturally lively disposition. She is fairly good-tem-pered. The will is not particularly strong. 'J.C is smart, pushing, but very much given to despondency at times. He is rather cunning, and very wide-a-wake. Temper changeable and sometimes not very pleasant. He has a rather jealous disposition. Danish and Fekn, Ponsonby.— ' Danish ' is brisk, energetic, hearty, strong-willed, observant, kind-hearted, sincere. He ought to make a good • boss.' ' Fern ' is lively, fond of fun, has a good command of language, (speaks and writes well) possesses pleasing manners and has a good head for details and arranging. She has a strong will and doesn't care about being driven. It is easier to lead her.

Bromfield.— The photo is not a good one for character-reading, which has to be done by methods of whioh you, of course, know nothing. Plain, full-face, lar,?e size photos are the best ; photos which show the features with great clearness. Still, rather than disappoint you a second time, I. will do my beßt, and you can, if you please, let me know the result. ' Bromfield ' is a ycung lady with good mental qualities. She is thoughtful,, and makes a good adviser. She is a kind-hearted girl, too. And she is very observant. The will is fairly strong. She is sensitive. Temper good. A very nice girl.

W.G.C.— You are cool, self-possessed, never in a hurry. You like to take plenty of time to consider. You are cautious and observant. It is a pity that the beard hides the chin so completely. The chin is a very expressive feature. It tells the character-reader whether the ' subject ' is firm of will or weak of purpose ; whether he is determined or is lacking in resoluteness. You are fairly good-tempered, and judging entirely from the mouth (the chin being hidden) are not very strongwilled. Your character, I fancy, is wanting in decision, and you are just a little bit selfish.

Sunshine, Waitetuna. — Your explanation is quite satsfactory, and I will, under the circumstances, read the photo with pleasure, although ie is not a very good one for the purpose. You have a cheerful, merry disposition and are very fond of a bit of fun. You are a quick observer. The chin shows considerable strength of will. You have plenty of pluck and perseverence and are generous and free-handed. You can be ..obstinate enough, if you like. You are pretty sure to be a favourite— especially with the girls, of whom you are a great admirer. You have a great capacity for enjoyment and a keen appreciation of the good things of this life. Temper is good unless thoroughly roused. Once roused it is not easily soothed. You would be an awkward customer in a row.

Dawson.— Character 'not yet fully formed. You are cautious, reflective, observant, moderately strong-willed, rather irritable and short-tempered. But "the head is well-shaped. You ought to. be a quick student.

5.8., Taheke, Hokianga. — Your brother is a man of much strength of will. He is earnest, sincere, an enthusiast in some things. The forehead shows him to be a man of some mental power. He is a thinker. He speaks well and for cibly.

Himalaya. — You are very thoughtful, and undoubtedly possess imaginative power. You have the head of an author, and the eyes show great command of language. You ought to be able to write stories. v You are sensitive and not particularly strong-willed. Rhoda.— You have not enclosed any name or initials by which I can distinguish you from my other correspondents, so I have used the name on your brooch. You are a. very charming girl. Your manners are very pleasing and you make many friends. You are fond of society, like ' going out ' and all that kind of thing. You can be very determined when you like. The chin shows obstinacy. The mental faculties are well-developed. You are a good hand at planning and contriving. The eye Bhows an excellent command of language; you talk fluently and well. The temper is good as a rule but you are not a girl to stand any nonsense. You are independent and self-reliant.
