WIRTH'S GREAT CIRCUS.

THE NEW SEASON'S NOVELTIES. It would be difficult to give the Messrs Wirth Brothers any points in the matter of enterprise in the Circus business . They are quick to plan and swift to execute, and this has been fully exemplified in the reorganisation and augmentation of their immense show, which is now in progress. Their intention was to close their Australasian tour with a short season in Auckland (whose associations have not been without their attractions to the Circus Triumvirate) to winter here, • effecting the reorganisation of the show during . their Btay, and to make this the starting point of the next tour in the early spring. These intentions have been quietly but admirably earned into effect. The Messrs Wirth are constantly posted in the arrival of fresh show novelties in Australia, and hearing that a company of very wonderful Japanese were envoute from their native country to Sydney, Mr Alexander was sent off post haste to intercept them and engage them for Wirth Brothers' new tour. This, it would appear from cable advices to hand, he has succeeded in doing. The company consists of three men, three women and a boy, and are the cleverest Japanese who have shown in their own country. They travelled through Japan some years ago with Cniarini's Circus, but have not hitherto been out of their native land. That they will astonish Australasians is a fair conclusion from the reputation they bring with them and the private performances they have given. They are moat mystifying illubionists, clever jugglers, wonderfully adept in the art of balancing, and exceptionally skilful in all kinds of feet work. Beside these, Mr Alexander has engaged Montgomery, the celebrated jockey rider, Mr and Mrs Shailes, very clever equestrians, and probably other equally good people. Some interest will attach to his arrival by the mail boat to-morrow, for , he is expected by her with the newly-«-ngaged artistes. Other new performers besides these have joined the show, and the short season to inaugurate the new tour will be an event of very considerable importance to both young and old. The performance will be quit 6 new, with none of the features introduced in the programme of the last season. Everything will be fresh, novel and decidedly of the marvellous and wonderful kind. With a commendable regard for the comfort of the public, the Wirth Brothers have engaged ths Agricultural Hall, and it is being fitted up very nicely. New seats for the Btalls, with patent backs and as comfortable as chairs, are now being manufactured by the Kauri Timber Company. The new season commences on Wednesday evening of next week, and the show should draw crowded houses nightly.
