AVONDALE.

I must say the dance at the Asylum was a most enjoyable one. The ballroom was tastefully decorated with flowers, evergreens and banners, and the refreshment room was set out in excellent style. The belle of the ball was Miss A. Scandrett of Remuera, and she danced the principal dances with Mr H. Rails, one of the attendants at the Asylum. The whole affair was gay and festive, friends and attendants enjoying themselves in a most cordial and enthusiastic manner Next to the belle we must give our compliments to Miss McKenna. The assembly ended up most agreeably with ' fcrir Roger de Coverly.' .$.
