ALEXANDRA.
On Thursday, the 15th, a social was held in the Public Hall. The attendance was good, and about twenty couples took part in the first dance. The M. C. grave satisfaction to none. Miss Helps gave her valuable services at the piano, which were duly appreciated. The supper was provided by the ladies in their usual style (i. c. enough and to spare) and was done justice to by those present. The following are some of the dresses worn by the company present : — Miss Ella Wills, black trimmed with white ; Miss Allan, pale green ; Miss Wilson, white and scarlet ; Miss Bowden, pink; Miss Harper, black and pink ; Miss Finoh, black ; Miss K. Bowden, white ; the Miesea Hunt, black ; Mrs Long, black lace ; Mrs Chappell, white and pink ; Miss M. Bowden, grey and pink ; Miss Steeje, cream ; Miss Aubin, pink ; Miss F. Bowdon, white and pink ; Miss Eva Wills, white and black ; Miss Crooks, white trimmed with black ; Miss K. Harper, white and black ; Miss Bockell, white and blue. Dancing was kept going until nearly daylight. Miss Allan and Miss Aubin sang a dnet during the interval with great taste and expression. Ifc was a givat pity the promoters did not watch the supper table, and keep those young ladies from spoiling the .shape of the jellies.
