Candidates for the Board of Education.

Mr W. Motion, Chairman of the Pokeno School Committee; Mr Alex Grant, M.A., ex-public teacher ; and Mr Joseph Greenwood, Chairman of the Mount Boskill Sohool Committee, are candidates for the three vacancies impending on the Board of Education. We accord them a hearty support, and rejoice that the long reign of favouritism and impudent jobbery styled and known as educational administration in our midst is now about to come to a close. Mr Udy's scheme, or some such scheme, will soon have advocates enough on the Board ; country schools will no longer exist *to be fleeced for the town schools, and those teachers who have been robbed for the enrichment of the * friends,' will soon have their own again. Three more suitable candidates could not well be found ; and a long-desired opportunity is afforded to our country friends and all lovers of public honesty and public decency to exert themselves just a little in seeing that they are not defeated by the friends and lovers of jobbery, sycophancy, corruption and ignorance. {Continued on page 9.)
