NAPIER.
A widower yclept Alexander,! Whose thoughts to fair ladies did wander, Because he felt lonely and sad, And wished to be cheerful and glad, Resolved a new leaf to turn over — To start with the New Year in clover ; So a widow, with one little pledge, His sorrows he thought might assuage. His advances she took in good part, As security giving her heart, As well as the pledge aforesaid — A remarkably nice little maid ! It's my uncle I'm speaking about Lucky dog ! Now I think he should shout, And give my watch back and chain, Now he's been, gone, and done it again.
