PARUA BAY.
Tlip best entert linmeut of the kind that has ever occurred in the bay took place on Wednesday the 26th ult., -«h--n in response to invitations given by the ladies of Parua, and in spite of very stormy weath' r, about.4ocoui'lus turned up to trip the light fantastic, which w.is kept up until daylight to *natle everyone to find their way home through the mud with as little inconvenience as possible. The ladies themselves were charming and their dresses simply superb, to enumerate them al) would tax me too much, so I will refrain from so ar' ttous a task A« to who was eutitled to the h>; lor of belle, I will not give an opinion, as I hire got into trouble ou that bead before, so w >u;d rather every one had his own opinion on the subject. The refre<hment department was well looked after by the committee, who saw that everyone wanted for nothing. The decorations, whoever supervised tnem, were very artistically arranged -the festooning over thfi- stage drawing the attention of all, but more especially the blue net under the gallery. Wh mgarei boys were in great force. Who was the very unfortunate young Lidy who trod on Hughie's coat tail ? I hear Nellie's brother was n t big enough to chaperon her, as he generally gets lost going home. Does that account for her absence ?
