MOUNT EDEN.
What has become of our • Chawles ' lately. The long-necTrei stiff-backed young fellow, known to fame as ' policeman Jim,' on account of his ungiinly gait, is again to be seen perambulating round this suburb seemingly in a state of semi-lunacy. The dear girls laugh quietly up their sleeves when they see him coming, but he passes u.der the stupid delusion (usual to such as he) that they are mashed on him. Bleazard's lane, of cyclone and tornado fame, has changed its name, and is now known by the man of the dark room and the masher grocer as ' Spooning Lane.' The man of limp fame is thinking of proceeding t-i Berlin to study Dr Koch's care. He says it will be much easier than picnicking and carrying young fadies ashore from nmall botts. The blonde ©f View Road is awfully cut up on account of Wallie having again to go into training and keep late hours. i t. Tj^ vi - c , and Tom are not playing speaks since the V.M.C. \ . ' At Home.' Mother says it was not right of the grocer (not the masher) to get wild and leave Louie to make her way off the platform herself. Christmas is comin<?, dear. Present him, as a Christmas box, with a copy of a neatly bound little book, entitled, ' Etiquette.' ye > And y hns been seen lately hieing his way in the direction of Victoria Quadrant. It's al l right, dear boy, you have awe t all other candidates out of the field ; go in now and win. The dark young ironmonger has given the Eoad best and left for pastures new. Why was the drummer-boy alias Poker; standing so forlorn looking at the corner the 0 ™£, mg ,kt ; ssur ly not waiting for burglars F Willie has got a little further than the corner now. Keep on, Bill, you will reach the gate yet.
