WHANG AREI.

Messrs Finlayson and C. S. Weston, of Sargood, Son and Ewen's Auckland establishment, arrived here on Sunday, the 16th insfc., having rode overland from town. To see them dismounting at this end of the journey was a sight for sore eyes. Poor little Weston is only about half of his former self. When ask->d by your correspondent how he enjoyed the trip, he replied, ' Never jio more, 1 with a very loner sigh. Mr Finlayson says he lost about a stone on the trip. I should think his steed must have gloried in the loss, as he and his saddle and bridle, after arriving, turned the scale at 17 stone.
