TE AROHA
The noted Chips Comedy Company gave a successful entertainment in Te Aroha Public Hall on Saturday evening, Ist inst., before a very fair house. The audience seemed on the whole to enjoy themselves vevy much. Bob, the waiter, looked charming riding out wiih Minnie on Sunday evening. 1 expect he has popped the question to her. Jack does not look at home since he went to work at the factory. Bottle-washing does not seem to agree with him. Harry is evidently going to follow the example set him by his brother Alt', as he has got his eyes on the infant dressmaker. The groom has been doing the heavy with the girls at the Palace lately. Bridget's bister is the favourite. The Tui contractor has been doing the heavy with the violinist lately ; it is whispered that he intends tying the fatal knot after Christmas. Who were the young m ; n that were enjoying the refreshing weed in the back seats of the hall A on Saturday night. 1 understand that the upper ten of Te Aroha are about to discontinue their fortnightly socials in the hall. What is the matter ? Short of funds, eh ? What makes the cadet look so down-hearted since he returned irom Wellington ? Is he fretting over ' tiie girl he left behind him.'
