lac candidates for the Ohinemuri County Council are ari&iously enquiring who wrote the lampoon which appeared in the local buster. The author had better insure his life ere he is found in Paeroa. A surprise party was held at the house of one of our leading citizenSj which was considered a great success ; bui not having an invite I cannot speak firm experience. The church bazaar held here raked in about .£4O ; so money cannot be scarce in spite of bad times. Which of the young ladies at the shop is it going to be, Archie? It is run>oured that several couples are going to run in double harness soon, so get your tin-cans ready, boys.
