Although it was rather unfavourable weather it did not prevent the friends of the adj ining places attending. There were about thirty couples present. A good programme of 24 dances was arranged and danced with great spirit. The music, which gave every satisfaction, was supplied by Mr Bane, Mr W. McCutchen acting the part of M.C. During the evening a few songs were rendered by friends. Mrs ' Grace sang very nicely, also Miss Liddle. Mr W. Shepherd and Me C. Broomfield gave very amusing comic songs. The ladies?, though it was wet. all looked charming. Oalder, black, pink sash ; iJisa J. Robson, grey lustre, red trimmings. Dancing was kept up till half-past four, when the dancers left for their homes, tired out, after spending a most enjoyable night, and by the look of them, all seeme-i well satisfied with, the success of the ball Mr W.
