A Talented Young Actress

Miss Magsrie Masters, the subject of our short sketch, is amongr the brightest and most t.uleuted y 'Uiii/ lady artistes Auckland has produced, and a grand future mn,j "be predicted for her. 'Jamie's first appearance (a.t the uge of 7 years) was with Bland Hoifc, on. which occasion she played a juvenile part with much acceptance, and elicited unsriiited eulogi&ms from the Press. Since then she has played with Juno, Crawford, Darrell, Rignold, and numerous other lights in the p-ofession, which fact is in itself an unbounded guarantee o£ her abidty. On each of her appearances with these men of note the Press ha^ most favourably commented on her performances, and n. large collection of newspaper notices shown us are highly creditable. Besides bein* a clever actress, she is particularly good in the variety and burlesque line, which is hold en evidencehy the fact that the Hellringers offered her an engagement, which she had to decline (had she felt innitned to accompany them) on account of her arrangements with the Clark Comedy Company, which has just inaugurated an extensive tour of the country districts. On her return she will in all probability leave for Sydney, where a first-class opfiinng awaits her. In this new sphere she will have more scope for the display of her talent, and will undoubtedly add fresh laurels to her already excellent record. Her future will be watched with great interest, as she should make a mark for herself and prove a valuable acquisition to uhe profession.
