Bad Weather Prophets.

WORSE THAN A TIDAL WAVE COMING,

Prophet Miller, of Meridian Plains, Queensland, was kind enough to specially warn the people of Auckland, and of North New Zealand generally, that they might be swept away by a tidal wave on the 9th mat. The wave did not arise on that date, but Mr Miller says 'it's comin' yet for a 1 that;' it may be six months before it arrives, and it may not do much damage when it does come ; but he thinks it well to prepare for the ■worst. The local correspondent who reoently sent to the Observer a prognostication of coming storms, forwards further particulars as follows : — November 8 1890 Editor sir— as you wish to know the place of these Natural disturbance as tn the time and place, sir to unbelevors I give you the sine Wben you see the bright Cloud that apear in night And initeors And the blaxing comet & When you see these phenomer then look outrht fore the Woi-ae bub the storms Near at hand, the place Where these natural disturbance take place his England & india united states of merica&germany, mexco france China Russia. Ji>ppn in Jave And other parts of the world — but as fore the other kind of storms this can be Btop. If the ruleing powers Would give Justice to the poor pople If not then the storms will rise And the ruleing power Will not be liable to stop it my hadvice give Justice to all. they that do well shall have reward at last— but they that 111 shall suffer for the past. but as fore Mr Egeson I know nothing a bought nore have copy his predicts. Readers will kindly look out for that bright cloud, those meteors, ' blaxing comet,' and other ' phenomsr ' that may appear in England, India, America, France, China, Russia, Japan, Java, and other parts of the world. As for giving ' justice to all,' well, all who wished it could on Labour Demonstration Day obtain a copy of Justice for nothing, so it is to be hoped that such liberal concession will have averted the storms from Auckland.

It is not true that the Prince of Wales offered Mr Donald Wallace 10,000 guineas for the racehorse Carbine but it is true that Digtnier's Co. Whisky bears away the palm from all competitors for a combination of qualities only appreciated cyre.l,l judges.
