A Brave Woman and a Bold Burglar.
A sensational incident occurred at the olose of an evening party in the house of Mrs Dickenson, at Sydney, a short time ago. A burglar managed to conceal himself on the premises, and when the festivities were over, commenced his depredations. He had not got Mrly^under way when he aroused Mrs Dickenson, who followed him around with a pistol, and, as he shot past her, fired fair into his back between the shoulders, the flash being so close to hia clothing that it couldn't escape being burned. The man leapt down the staircase into the hall. Mrs Dickenson ran into her bedroom, got a loaded revolver, and rushed downstairs after him. It wab then digcovered that the hall door was wide open, the man having evidently fled through it. An examination of the plate subsequently showed that a considerable quantity had been taken away, from which it is inferred that the man fired at had one or more accomplices.
