TO FANNY.
Fair Fan, thou art the only muse I woo, h or all thy charms and graces do inspire a S< ?T' Wfllch liveth only in thy view, And knows from thee sweet love's delicious fire ; The inspiration I from thee have caught, Is dearer than the help of all the Nine, ±or trom thy loveliness shall I be taught lne arts and graces seeming most divine ; J- fly loveliness defies all human art, ihy graces c'en the Gods might emulate, And yet withal thou hast a tender heart, Befriending all alike, both small and great ; But, O ! my goddess, take me to thine arms, And let my paradise be in thy charms. — W.
