—Takapuna v. Orient.— This match was played at Potter's last Saturday. and resulted in a win for the Takapuna by 6 points (2 goals) to 4 points (1 goal and 1 try). The game was chiefly confined to the forwards, and was well contested from start to finish, Takapun,a T^fe second try being scored just as time was up, ana^ when the goal was kicked time was called. For the winners, Hunt and Keneally scored tries, * both of which were converted into goals by W. McKenzie, and for the Orients, O'Leary and Beamish scored tries, the former of which Holt converted into a goal. Harvey and Hunt played good games forward for the Takapuna, and McKenzie and Niccol backs, McKenzie making one of the best runs of the day, and which was the means of the first try being scored. For the Orient, Blewrlen, Mitchell and Holt (backs) and • O'Leary and Edenborough (forwards) played best. Messrs Harvey and Holland acted aa umpires, and D. McKenzie as referee.
