BEYOND THE GRAVE.
There is a life beyond the grave, Whate'er philosophy may teach — A voice which God Almighty gave, In gentle whispers still will preaoh The glorious truth denied by man — Man is not born as passion's slave ; Beyond life's very narrow sphere, There is a life beyond the grave. There is a life beyond the grave, Where all man's doubt and danger ends, And where the changing fortune's wave _ On us in vain its fury spends. Unseen, that glorious home is known Through Him, who in his wisdom gave That knowledge to his faithful own — There is a life beyond the grave. There is a life beyond the grave ; We need not mourn departed friends j The faith that God Almighty gave Will teach us that existence ends Not in the cold and cheerless tomb ; It says, you have a soul to save ! Beyond this earthly care and gloom, There is a life beyond the grave. — Claib.
