B.M. a new arrival here, is greatly admired by the fair sex. They seem to take to tall fellows
... J.R. and J.P. have to take a back seat now after that party on the M11...M.8. and L.H. were right in it with A. on Friday night, but two's company and three's none. Which is the favourite ? Two to one on L.H...M.8. is lost now that rinking is over, but faint heart, etc.P.C. has gone up, and given the 'darkey ' the go-by. ..J. R. and his friend look as if they enjoy their afternoon swims in the surf ; they are giving the ladies a hint...T.Gr-, of Hastings, thinks the Napier girls are mashed on him. Oh, no, old man, all fancy. ..W. and Miss P. appear out of sorts. How's that, old man ; are the apricots sour ?...! see B.M. is coming to the front as ladies' man...J.E. seems to have plenty of strings to his bow at present. ..B.C. should shave ; M.W. doesn't like it, the hair tickles her chin... The Boulanger shave is all the go here, and the ladies say it is very becoming. [Can you send a few notes every week ?]
