—The Te Aro Rifles (Wellington) have decided to disband.
—A number of recruits have joined the Waitemata Navals.
—Mr Finlay Wilson has been elected Hon. Lieut, of the Waitemata Navals.
— A shooting match is on the lapis between the A Battery and City Guards.
— Captain Kohn Intends holding military sports at the conclusion of the encampment.
— Tho companies down South tall off a recruiting: party and this scheme seems to work admirably.
— During the week, Mr Chapman has had on view a big shield of the New Zealand ' reps.' over in Melbourne.
— Dame Rumour has been busy again, and now says the scarlet tunics are to be abolished and be replaced by blue.
— The City Guards intend going into camp at North Shore next Saturday, and they will be followed by the Ponsonby Navals.
— The New Zealand team that defeated Victoria are to be presented with the MartiniHenry's which they used by the Government.
— There is some talk of electing SergeanfcMajor Haul tain to the vacant lieutenancy in the A Battery. The corps might do a deal worse.
— Captain Hifcchens, of the Waitemata Navals, has been obliged to apply for thirty stand of arms. This promises to be one of the leading corps in the colony.
— The Ponsonby Naval Artillery have taken over the orderly room formerly in possession of the Gordon Rifles, and have made it into one of the best rooms in the Drill-shed.
— Now that Colonel Mahon has dropped out of vohxnteering, I should like to know whose duty it is to look after the interests of the local volunteers in connection with the New Zealand Eifle Association.
— Lieutenant Davis, of the Allahabad Volunteers, has won the Silver Championship Badge, as well as the Viceroy's and Commander-in-Chief's prizes at the meeting 1 of the Bengal Eifle Association.
— A match with Martini- Henry rifles was fired in Christchurch between the Christchurch Rifle Club, the Reserve Corps, and the Rapid ; ten men a-side ; seven shots at 200 yds, 300yd a, and .500 yds. Ohristchuroh scored 755, the Reserve Corps 793, and the Rapid 689.
— On Saturday last the members of the Ponsonby Naval Artillery fired for Lieutenant Whiteley's medal and two cups presented by Mr E. L. Smith, of the Ponsonby Club. Seven shots were fired at 200, 300, and 500 yards, and P. O. Spinley won the medal and one of the cups, while Seamen Hedley carried off the other cud
