TAUKANaA. — Thanks. Tour items appear this week. Glad to hear from .you again.... Nblson. — We have great difficulty in petting 1 notes regularly from tfelson. Correspondents there appear to write by fits and starts. ■ — Dalton's annual picnic was voted on all hands a perfect treat. It took place on Monday, at Waiheke, the s.s. Maori beinsr specially chartered for the occasion. About 100 employees and their friends were present. A really excellent lunch was nrovided, and the usual picnic amusements (including spooning) were in fall force. On arrival at Queen-street wharf in the evening — about 10 o'clock- -three ringing cheers were given, for Mr Dalton. — Divorces in the Arctic Regions. — An exchange says that in the Arctic regions whena man desires a divorce he quits the house in anger and does not return in several days. The wife understands the hint, packs her trunk and leaves. We can understand Eve packing her trunk and leaves, for her wardrobe was leaves and nothing else, but you can't make us believe that a woman could get along with such flimsy clothing in the Arctic regions. Even her aunt Arctic would scorn a wardrobe of that material.
