J/iDIES. — Miss Baker is a very graceful skater. Her style is much admired ; so is her stylish black toilette, with salmon-pink demi vest. —Miss Bennet's costume of fawn cachcmire, and white tulle mingled with cold lace, is one of the most effective seen at the Columbia. — Miss Martin has gained quite a reputation as a fast skater. The feat is accomplished without any apparent effort, and is full of grace. — Miss Harrison is still a zealous devotee to the wheel pastime. She looked charming the other night skimming round in a pale blue costume, hat and gloves to match. — Miss Phillips can hold her o-.vn as a fancy rinlupt. Eev movements are very pretty. Her latest toilette is a pale pink skirt, white Liberty silk blouse, tulle' hat, with pink poppies and Suede gloves. —Miss "Wallace is one of the prettiest fancy skaters patronising the Columbia. Her style gains much kudo*. Her dainty cream gown, strapped across the shoulders with heliotrope, is very becoming. r.HXir-KMEX. — Mr Salmon, the popular manager, received quite an enthusiastic reception on Monday evening, his first, appearance at the Columbia since his seriour; illness. —Mr Burton is an energetic skater. Goes in for everything, from the double-shuffle to the dreamy \vaH;:. ■ Most of the j alter is accomplished in tender relations with the railing. —Mr Bell can do the ' Mikado ' ship on wheels. ]t is managed by bending one leg double and upsetting your neighbours by gently fanning the other. Don't confuse it with waltzing. SPECTATORS. — Miss Young: Ficelle cambric gown; white Liberty silk blouse ; tulle hat ; gold coloured silk gloves. — Miss Harris : Snal-brown velveteen costume ; brown tulle hat, with autumnal leni garniture ; elbow Suede gloves. — Miss Cook : White cambric dress, trimm cc ' with embroidery ; straw hat garnished with tvP c and oats ; white silk gloves.
—Mrs Eobertson : Grey cachemire effectively embroidered ; short tight-fitting velvet jacket ; black bonnet ; Suede gloves. —Miss Patterson : Black cauhemive toilette, the corsage finished with a surplice vest of pale maize silk, honeycombed ; black tulle hat, with maize chrysanthemums ; long black kid gloves.
