Tot has returned from Auckland. Maggie looks quite bright again. Those two young ladies must have been disappointed that were going up the creek the other Sunday night, singing, ' Oh, where is my wandering boy to-night ?' When is the happy event coming off between Chips and the belle of the Waiotahi ? Hurry up, old man, or Maggie may get tired of waiting. There are plenty ready and willing to take your place. l If Tapp's patent is as successful as he was at the concert, it will be a great success indeed. It was too bad of those two young ladies to stand and laugh when the young painter fell into the water-race- Thy should always put out a hand to help a friend in need — or water. Joe D. has left the warm-haired lassie, and has taken up with the darkey. Never mind, Jessie, there are better fish left.
