FUN AT PUIIO!

A correspondent writes: — "'I never enjoyed myself so much !' was the universal exclamation at the conclusion of the bachelors' ball, held at Puhoi on Frida3 r last. Few outside the settlement have any idea of the dancing talent that lies hidden among these hills, and that talent was displayed to its fullest extent under the inspiring music provided by our German fiddler. The ladies looked charming, but I am afraid if I was to Jiuit at the mischief done by these charms to more than one manly heart., I should be accused of telling tales. The decorations testified to the artistic taste of our friends, while the excellence of the refreshments reflected great credit on the bachelors' cook. My only fear is, that if the gentlemen of Puhoi provide such enjoyable entertainments, and open such doors for social intercourse, there will be no bachelors left to give us another ball."
