SUNBEAMS GOLDEN FROM THE; THRONE.
O, beautiful world ! — how false and 7 coldThe traitor hearts I hare found to-day ! Tinkling brass, with fche stamp of gold, Wintry winds in the years of May ; Yet over my soul when bound in woe,. Broken-hearted I wander lone, The dear stars shine, With rays divine, Sunbeams golderi from the throne. O, beautiful eyes ! — how fair and blue, How many hearts must as sadly ache ?■ Why do they flash in the summer true, In wintry times a true heart break ? Tho' over my soul a sense of pain Will throw its shadow, sad and lone, Yet sweet birds sing In months of spring, Sunbeams golden from tie throne. O, beautiful days ! — of long ago, When hearts were true, and my love was young-,,. Where are the golden words you said ? Where are the song 9my true heart sung ? Yet over my- soul~ comes, sweet and low, A song of hope in, midnight lone, y For angels chime .-_..,, - ( Sweet songs sublime, . Sunbeams golden from the throne. . ' W. E.Wilhs. Otahuhu, March 18, 1885.
