WHANGAREI NOTES.
Why did H., at Mrs M.'s let the boys go to Auckland ?
Buggies are on the increase in Whangarei Are they all paid for, or only by P.N.s ?
Who is W.s latest fancy? He was noticed last Sunday evening after church.
The barber's clerk ha 3 been very quiet lately What is on the tspia ? Still waters run deep.
There has been an important secession from the Wesleyan body of the barber. Pray, what ia the cause ?
Who was it that put his fist through the window ? Was it the same man who put his head through hair ?
Did M. come down from Auckland to call tin young plumber out over Miss L. ?
H., the little dressmaker, has come back, we see. What is it she has got behind ? Is it her husband ?
The railway manager is going heavy into land speculations, and it is hoped he will make it pay better than ou.* local railway.
It is wrong about the new plumber as stated in your issue of the seventh. He evidently prefers the dark Vine-street beauty.
la it true that old H. has transferred his love from Miss P. to Miss Or. afc'O.'s ? If so, I think he ia not such a fool as we thought he was.
Is it true that they have got a subscription up for McL., at the boarding-house, to buy him a razor as his chin is getting very rough ? — so H. says.
Is it true that the would-be dress-improver kicked poor little Dandy and all of 'urn down to the slavey out of the house the other night? That's what we call making the old man comfortable.
It is currently reported that a fire brigade has been tried to be floated with the drum major to the front, but Whangarei residents consider they already pay sufficient for insurances. The Insurance Companies might find it to their adrahtage to supply the promoters of the brigade scheme with a hand engine to wash their own windows.
