THE LAST BENEDICT OF ST. PAUL'S
A gentlemen who has been a good friend of the Obseetek was about to enter into the bonds of matrimony a few days ago, and was resolved to distinguish the event by being the last to get married in St. Paul's Church. The happy event occurred on a Saturday, and the bridegroom, went away on his honeymoon, laying- the flattering unction to his soul that he Avas the last Benedict of St. Paul's. But he counted his chickens too soon. Another victim had formed the same plan, and managed to slip in on the following Monday, just as the old building, with all its time-honoured associations, was about
to be removed, and the ceremony of marriage having been duly performed, he also went away on his honeymoon with the proud consciousness that he was the very last Benedict of St. Paul's.
